Katavi National Park
Untouched wilderness in the far west

Discover Katavi
Katavi is one of Tanzania's most remote and least-visited parks, a true wilderness reached mainly by light aircraft.
In the dry season the Katuma River shrinks into muddy pools packed with hippos and crocodiles, while huge herds of buffalo roam the floodplains followed by lions. With only a handful of camps, Katavi offers a raw, old-Africa safari experience.
Wildlife & sights
- Huge dry-season hippo pools
- Large buffalo herds
- Very few other visitors
- Combine with Mahale chimpanzees
