Itinerary
DAY1Fly to Katavi
Flight from Arusha to Katavi and an afternoon game drive.
DAY2Katavi safari
Game drives and walks on the Katuma floodplains.
DAY3Katavi to Mahale
Morning drive, then fly to Mahale and transfer by boat to camp on the lake shore.
DAY4Chimpanzee trekking
Trek into the forest to find the chimpanzees, then relax on the beach.
DAY5Mahale forest and lake
Second chimpanzee trek, and a dhow trip or swim in the lake.
DAY6Mahale at leisure
Optional third trek, fishing or kayaking on Lake Tanganyika.
DAY7Fly to Arusha
Boat to the airstrip and fly back to Arusha.
