The two main climbing seasons, what to expect each month and when to avoid the rains.
Kilimanjaro can be climbed all year, but the dry seasons offer the clearest views and most comfortable conditions.
January to early March
Warm, generally dry weather with clear mornings. Quieter than the peak season and a good time for summit views.

June to October
The main dry season and the most popular time to climb. Nights are colder but the skies are usually clear. Book early for July and August.
The rainy months
The long rains fall from around late March to May and the short rains in November. Trails are muddier and views are limited, although the north side (Rongai) is drier. Some climbers enjoy the quieter trails at this time.
Full moon climbs
Many climbers time their summit night with the full moon, when you can often walk without a headlamp.
