Reasons to choose us for your 2 Days Mount Kilimanjaro trip
To begin with, each 2-Day Mount Kilimanjaro we operate is built around you, so dates, accommodation and pace can all be changed. Our local team also looks after you from the moment you land until you leave. Before you fly, you might read up on the region at the official Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) website. If you want more inspiration, browse our other Kilimanjaro National Park tours.
Explore Mount Kilimanjaro on this lively 2-day Shira Route adventure, designed for travellers who want to meet Africa’s highest mountain but have little time. Fine scenery, crisp mountain air and memorable moments with our professional local guides come with it.
The Shira Route is the short Kilimanjaro hike we recommend most, because on clear days it offers some of the the sharpest, nearest outlook toward Kibo and Uhuru peaks. Its open scenery and quiet trails also make it a top route for photographers and nature lovers.
A night in Moshi, with coffee and hot springs
Your adventure then moves on to a traditional Chagga coffee plantation, where you learn about local culture and sample freshly roasted Tanzanian coffee. After that, unwind with a swim in the clear waters of Chemka Hot Springs, among Tanzania’s loveliest natural sights.
Your night is spent at the welcoming Kilimanjaro White House Hotel in Moshi, and accommodation upgrades are available to suit your budget. Altogether, this tour blends mountain adventure, culture and relaxation into just two memorable days.
Itinerary
You are collected from Arusha, Moshi, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) to start. The first stop is Londorossi Gate for registration, after which a vehicle takes you on to Shira Gate, among the highest trailheads on Mount Kilimanjaro.
Then begin your guided hike over the spectacular Shira Plateau, where the trail offers open landscapes, unusual alpine plants and volcanic formations. The scenery is unlike anything on other short Kilimanjaro hikes.
On clear days the views of Kibo Peak and Uhuru Peak are spectacular and close. For that reason it is the route we recommend most to anyone hoping for memorable mountain photographs. All the way up, your professional guide also shares fascinating details about Kilimanjaro's geology, wildlife, ecology and climbing history.
After the hike, you transfer to Kilimanjaro White House Hotel at Moshi, where dinner and a good night’s rest are waiting.
