Early morning in Arusha is when the safari gets going. The route crosses the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, then drop into the crater for a long game drive over the crater floor. Lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and other wildlife may all cross your path.

Early start from Arusha
Your trip starts with a prompt hotel collection in Arusha, usually between 5:30 and 6:00 AM. After meeting your professional safari guide, you head towards the Ngorongoro Crater.gorongoro Conservation Area aboard a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle fitted with a pop-up roof.
Your route takes you through the lovely countryside of northern Tanzania. When the formalities at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area entrance are finished, you descend roughly 600 metres into Ngorongoro Crater, where the game drive starts.
Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater
The crater floor is packed with wildlife. Your experienced guide takes you through a mix of habitats, including grasslands, woodland, wetlands and the shores of Lake Magadi, with plenty of animal sightings and photo chances on the way.
Lions, elephants, black rhinos, Cape buffaloes, zebras and wildebeest are all possible sightings on your game drive. Giraffes (less commonly seen on the crater floor), hippos, hyenas, gazelles and other antelopes may appear too, along with flamingos and many bird species. The crater is renowned for its predators and large herds of grazers in a fairly small area.
Picnic Lunch
Around midday you have a packed picnic lunch at a designated picnic area. Park rules and conditions on the day determine the exact spot, so your guide picks it then. You carry on across the crater floor afterwards and enjoy your final wildlife sightings before the drive up out of the crater.
Return to Arusha
In the afternoon you climb out of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and head back in the direction of Arusha.
By evening, between about 7:00–9:00 PM depending on road and traffic conditions, you are back in Arusha, and we take you to your hotel or to another place you have agreed.
